….as state govt declare today as work-free-day for civil servants for collection of PVC
The Kwara State House of Assembly has approved N188.8million as 2023 budget.
The passage followed the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation presented by the Chairman and member representing Owode-Onire Constituency, Ambali Ibrahim.
In the breakdown of the budget, the capital expenditure is now N113.1 billion, as opposed to N12.5 billion earlier presented by the executive, representing an increase of N109 million, while the recurrent expenditure stands at N77.6 billion, as against N76.4 billion earlier proposed, representing a decrease of N1.6 billion.
Speaker Yakubu Danladi-Salihu said the capital expenditure is N50.2 per cent of the total budget estimate, while recurrent expenditure stands at 48 3 per cent.
In a related development, the Kwara State Government has declared Thursday, a work-free day to enable the state civil servants to collect their permanent voter cards (PVCs).
Mrs. Susan Oluwole, Head of Service said in a statement that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq approved the work-free day for the civil servants, adding that the approval was aimed at giving an ample time to the workers to get their PVCs from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to enable them participate in the upcoming general election.
“Those yet to get their voter cards are advised to immediately do so before the expiration of the collection date,” the statement said.
