Kwara govt urges registration of electrical artisan members for proper identification
The Kwara State Government, while partnering with electrical artisans, has directed the association to register in line with Registration Law 2010, stressing that registration with the Ministry of Energy is crucial for standardising goods and services, ultimately ensuring the safety of Kwarans.
The Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy made this known on Tuesday while meeting with electricians, manufacturers, electrical technicians, and sellers of electrical products at the Ministry’s conference room.
He says, “The Kwara State Artisans Registration Law, enacted in 2010, mandates registration for informal sector workers to ensure effective service delivery and eradicate quackery.”
On his part, the Director of Personnel, Finance and Supply, Alhaji Hassan Taiye Afodun, pointed out that the Artisan Registration Monitoring Team will conduct regular inspections to prevent substandard production and illegal operations.
The State Chairman of the Kwara State Licensed Contractors Association (LECAN), Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed, pledged the Association’s immediate compliance with the registration requirements and commitment to adhering to government standards.
