The Kwara State Government has directed schools in the state to reopen for the second term of 2020/21 academic session from Monday, January 18, 2021.
The Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Permanent Secretary, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, disclosed this known during the Education Stakeholders meeting held at Ministry’s headquarters on Thursday.
She hinted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved 18th January, 2021 as the official beginning of 2020/2021second term academic session in the state.
She further reiterated that safety guidelines of COVID -19 should be intact in all schools in the state.
She stated, “Nobody should enter the school premises without a facemask on. Any school that does not comply with NCDC and Federal Ministry of Education guidelines will face appropriate sanctions.
She added that the commitment of the present administration in the state to flattening the curve of COVID-19 transmission in State.
