Kano Pillars’fans on rampage, destroy Katsina United’s team bus.

Fans of Kano Pillars went rampage on Saturday when they wreck havoc on a coaster bus belonging to Katsina United.

The incident occured after the NPFL matchday 23 game between the two Northern club sides at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Kano Pillars fans were reportedly to have been angered by the result of the encounter which ended in a goalless draw.

Recall that the game on Saturday was the first time Kano Pillars are making a return back home after two years away from the Pyramid City.

The club was reportedly granted a temporary approval by the League Management Company(LMC) for a return to the Stadium which was earlier deemed below the Standard of the league.

Among many other things, the usage of the Stadium as a COVID-19 isolation centre by the Kano State government has kept the team away from the facility.

The club, within the last two years have adopted Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna as their temporary home ground before they were recently banished to Muhammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina for their home game.

There existed some sort of monumental rivalry between Kano Pillars and Katsina United. This rivalry has over the years shaped their engagement in the league with heavy sanctions always falling on each team.

The league management as at the time of filing this report are yet to react to the incident.
