In a resolute stance against the recent attack on worshippers in Saya-Saya village, Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the culprits face justice.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 21.7km Anchau-Gadas-Palla Road in Kubau and Ikara Local Government Areas, Governor Sani pledged to hold the attackers accountable.
Governor Sani emphasized that the security of lives and property remains a paramount concern for his administration.
He made it clear that those who thrive on sowing conflict within the state would not be tolerated.
During the ceremony, which marked the governor’s first 100 days in office, the focus shifted to rural development and improved infrastructure.
The Anchau-Gadas-Palla Road project, spanning 21.7km, is expected to connect 32 villages across the two local government areas.
Governor Sani underscored the significance of this project, highlighting its potential to address transportation challenges faced by communities along its route.
Beyond easing the movement of people, the road is expected to enhance the transportation of agricultural produce from farms to markets, thereby contributing to rural development and bolstering the local economy.
In their remarks, the chairmen of Kubau and Ikara Local Government Areas expressed their gratitude to the governor for selecting their regions as beneficiaries of projects planned for his administration’s first 100 days.
They acknowledged the positive impact that the road’s construction would have on their communities, anticipating economic growth and improved well-being for residents.
The tragic incident in Saya-Saya village, where seven persons were killed during an attack on a mosque, prompted the governor to extend his condolences to the affected villagers.
He assured the public that justice would be served in this case, reaffirming his commitment to peace and security within the state.
The attack occurred during the evening prayer at around 8 pm on Friday, when suspected bandits shot six worshippers to death in Saya-Saya village.
The bandits subsequently moved to Tashar Dauda village, where they killed another person in a mosque.
Three individuals sustained injuries during the attack, and four motorcycles were stolen by the assailants.
While the security forces swiftly responded to the incidents, the bandits managed to escape before their arrival.
Seven victims’ bodies were subsequently handed over to their families, while the wounded received medical attention.
Commissioner of Police Musa Garba urged the officers to intensify efforts to apprehend the attackers, and Governor Sani directed security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident, demonstrating the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining peace within Kaduna State.
