June 12: Police says no restriction of movement in Kwara
…assures residents of adequate security
The Police Command in Kwara State has assured residents of the state of adequate security before, during and after June 12 Democracy Day, adding that there is no restriction of movement.
The command’s spokesman, Sp Okasanmi Ajayi gave the assurance in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Friday.
“The Kwara State Police Command wishes to reassure the good people of Kwara State of her preparedness to ensure that the June 12 holiday is observed in Kwara State without any fear of attack or molestation,” he said.
Okasanmi, who said the state government has not restricted the movement of the citizens, added that members of the public are advised to go about their lawful endeavors, stressing that adequate security measures have been emplaced across the length and breadth of the state.
He added, “The Commissioner of Police Kwara State, CP Mohammed Lawal Bagega psc, enjoined members of the public to report any untoward activities of people around them to the police, while anybody arrested attempting to cause the breakdown of law and order in the State will be dealt with in accordance with the law.”
