IPOB: Nobody can threaten Buhari not to visit us – Imo govt

The Imo State Government has reduced to nothing, the threat issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ahead of the visit of the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.

The Informant247 observes that president Buhari is planning to visit the state on Tuesday.

While reacting to the threat at a press conference in Owerri, the capital of the state, on Saturday, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, , boasted that the indigenous organization couldn’t threaten Buhari.

Emelumba, who was reacting to the manner IPOB has declared a sit-at-home in the state on Tuesday, reaffirmed that security agents were prepared for the visit of the president to Imo.

The Informant247 learnt that the unsociability m indigenous group had declared a sit-at-home across the South eastern zone of the country on Tuesday.

IPOB had labeled the sit-at-home a day of civil action across the Southeastern region.

The group has made the declaration in readiness for the Appeal Court hearing of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and the planned visit of president Buhari to the Southeast.

“Nobody can threaten Buhari. He’s president and commander in chief of the federal republic of Nigeria. Imo is one of the states he governs, and he is free to visit it. Security is in top gear, and I can assure you that his visit will be successful,” Emelumba said.

The Informant247 learnt that the Nigerian leader is to inaugurate three signature projects constructed by the governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma on Tuesday.
