His Royal Highness (HRH), Alhaji Hassan Shamidozhi, kidnapped traditional ruler of Bukpe community in Kwali Area Council of Abuja, had said that he does not wish his enemies to pass through what he encountered in captivity.
The monarch who was reported to have been kidnapped from his palace in March, was able to regain his freedom after 18 days in captivity.
The monarch’s family were compelled by the kidnappers to sell house to fund the monarch’s release.
They later reduced the ransom to N6million, threatening to take his life within 24 hours if the money was not provided.
Speaking with newsmen at his palace on Sunday, the monarch said his family members provided the sum of N4 million before he was set free.
He thanked God for keeping his life and two other victims and also appreciated relatives, friends and well wishers who showed concern and effected his release.
He however advised the government to invest more efforts in security of Nigerians.
“I don’t pray for my enemy to be a victim, because with what I saw with my eyes, I couldn’t believe I will return back home alive. These bandits were over 200 with sophisticated weapons and different camps,” he said.
Friends and family from neigbouring places visited the palace to sympathise with the traditional ruler.
