A middle-aged man operating a barbershop in Ilorin, Kwara State, has been apprehended by the Kwara State Police Command following the tragic death of a young woman during an intimate encounter on Monday.
The police confirmed the incident on Tuesday and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the lady’s demise, which occurred after a romantic encounter with her boyfriend at a guest house in Ilorin.
The incident unfolded on Monday at a guest house in the Temidire community, Offa Garage area, in the city. According to reports, the middle-aged man, who owns a barbershop, had gone for a night out with his girlfriend.
Unconfirmed reports from community members also suggest that the man might have used drugs to impress his girlfriend, which took a grim turn.
According to sources, “The girl became fatigued during their intimate encounter and later passed away.
“The young lady reportedly grew weary during the encounter and lost consciousness, eventually succumbing.”
Upon noticing the young woman’s unconscious state, the man raised the alarm, drawing the attention of the guest house staff. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was tragically declared deceased.
Following the guest house owner’s report to the Ilorin Police ‘A’ Division, the middle-aged man was subsequently taken into custody.
Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the incident and stated that a thorough investigation is underway: “The incident is true. The state police command has arrested the man involved while full investigations have commenced to determine what actually transpired between the man and the deceased.”
