Gunmen attack Nasarawa community, kill seven
Suspected gunmen have attacked Tatara village of the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, killing at least seven people in the attack.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Ramhan Nansel, while confirming the incident to Channels Television, said the attack occurred on Saturday night.

According to Nansel, the police received a distress call. Upon receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Mohammed, led a detachment of police operatives to the scene where seven corpses were recovered, and the assailants trailed, forcing them to abandon nine motorcycles.
He added that the Commissioner of Police immediately convened a stakeholders meeting where he condoled with all the affected families and ordered a comprehensive investigation into the case
