Troops bombs bandits’ camps, neutralise scores, recovers AK-47 rifles in Zamfara

Some armed bandits have been neutralized by the troops of the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadarin Daji, in their clearance, in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The Informant247 gathered that the troops on Thursday conducted intense operations where they engaged the bandits on fire-for-fire operations, pointing out that all bandits’ camps in Danbokolo, Malam Ila, Malam Sale, Kagara, Gangara, Fakai, and Manawa villages all under the Shinkafi council, were attacked.

It was learned according to a top military source, who pleaded anonymity that serious gun battles were exchanged with the armed bandits during the operations, saying several of them were neutralized while others escaped with gunshot wounds to the mountains beside Fakai Village.

The source further stated that sophiscated weapons and military camouflage were recovered from the bandits.

He said: “The operation is ongoing until bandits are cleared from the state, several are already fleeing Zamfara State due to the intensity of the military operations and air bombardment around all identified bandits’ hideouts.”

The troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, two magazines, two locally-made guns, a pair of military camouflage uniforms, and a motorcycle belonging to the terrorists was also burnt during the operation, the source said.
