A Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO) has taken upon the task of beautifying one of the state capital’s fly-over, Challege- Post Office overhead bridge, as their own way of supporting the Governor AbdulRahman- led administration.
The group President, Comrade Dennis Ayotunde Opaleke who spoke to our medium explained that they have been a civil group committed to making proactive impact across the country for a while.
The group, All Nigeria Youth Alliance (ANYA) expressed surprised that the public thought they were being sponsored by a person or group or authority. They dissociated themselves from anyone by emphasising that it is purely a civil group comprising of like- minded youth with good interests of the nation at heart.
While speaking, the President, Comrade Dennis, who hailed from Iludun, Oro Kwara State, said they are convinced projects like theirs could go a long way in complementing the efforts of the government.
In his words; ” This is what we called activism. To make impacts, to get involve patriotically. We believe in contributing our quota to the development of the state through group project.
“We have chosen to paint and beautify the fly -over to make it look more colourful. We also believe it will portray Kwara in good light to people coming into the city”. He submitted.
Meanwhile, the group has called for support from youth across the state to join their cause for better and faster productivity on their other projects.
