The Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Communications, Ibraheem Abdullateef, has criticized the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for its handling of recent defections, stating that the party’s response mirrors a culture of disrespect.
Abdullateef called attention to the defections of Saheed Adebisi Adeyemi and Lateef Aremu from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the weekend.
He noted that the PDP’s spokesperson, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, has resorted to questioning the integrity and worth of defectors rather than addressing the party’s challenges.
He criticized the PDP’s communication strategy, describing it as disrespectful and dismissive of individuals who choose to leave the party.
Abdullateef emphasized that the PDP’s belief system and approach to politics have contributed to its decline in recent elections.
Abdullateef praised the APC’s leadership style and governance agenda, attributing the party’s success to inclusive politics and rounded development initiatives.
He spotlighted Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s performance and political strategies, suggesting that the APC’s progress in Kwara State poses a challenge to the PDP’s future.
Abdullateef concluded by listing various development indices, such as education, healthcare, and youth engagement, where he claims Kwara State has made significant improvements under the APC-led government.
He suggested that the PDP’s focus on countering this progress may lead to its decline in the state’s political landscape.
