Gov AbdulRazaq has reduced governance to family affairs: Opposition party

…says governor appoints relative as new Accountant General

The main opposition party in Kwara State has berated Governor AbdlRahman AbdulRazaq for allegedly appointing his relative as the new Accountant General of the State, describing the appointment as “unacceptable and an insult to Kwarans”.

The Peoples Democratic Party spokesperson, Tunde Ashaolu, in a statement issued on Tuesday, also accused the governor of nepotism.

He asked him to reverse the appointment in the interest of the State, noting that such development portends grave consequences on transparency and accountability.

“It is nauseating that at a time when genuine leaders are busy thinking of how best to make government and governance more open to the citizenry, Mallam Abdulrazaq is appointing his family members to positions of authority and has reduced governance to family affairs,” Ashaolu said.
