An Ilorin magistrate court, presided over by magistrate Abdulraheem Bello has ordered the remand of one Fulani herdsman, Akilesho Attah, in the Correctional Service Centre for allegedly stabbing his colleague to death.
Attah was repeatedly stabbed by knife in the neck while pursuing his colleague who grazed on his farm land, thereby destroying his maize.
Our correspondent gathered that the prosecutor, Zacheous Folorunsho in his submission, prayed the court to remand the defendant, (Attah) on the basis that the alleged offences before him is capital in nature.
It was learnt that on the 2nd December, 2020, Attah who until his death a laborer was sent by his master to fetch some tubers of yam from his farm, only to meet four Fulani herdsmen destroying the farm by grazing cattle. The deceased made a chase for one of the herdsmen whose name is Manu Usman, until the herder suddenly pulled out a knife to stab Akelesho Attah in the neck and escaped.
Attah was rushed to the immediate hospital for medical attention where he was confirmed dead.
Immediate police intervention led to the arrest of Manu Usman who was charged and now honoring litigation before Magistrate Bello.
Magistrate Bello, however ceded to the submission of the prosecutor while the matter is adjourned to 12th of next of this month.
