Girl, 17, drowns in Asa River in Ilorin – The Informant247
A 17-year-old girl on Wednesday drowned in Asa river, along the Harmony Estate bridge, Kulende area of Ilorin, Kwara State.
The spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin on Wednesday.
He said a team of firemen was summoned to the scene of the incident through a telephone call at about 13.09hours on Wednesday.
Adekunle, however, expressed sadness that the victim was rescued dead by the firemen.
Her body, he added, was later transferred and handed over to the police.
