Don’t lobby your postings, Kwara TESCOM warns new teachers – The Informant247
The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mall Bello Tahueed Abubakar has warned the newly recruited teachers to desist from lobbying their postings.
In a statement issued by the Press Secretary of the commission, Mr. Peter Amogbonye, the TESCOM boss advised new teachers to be ready to serve in any part of the state, stressing that the present administration would never condone any act of insubordination and flouting its directive.
He added that Bello, while addressing the teachers at the commission’s office, told them that their appointment letters indicated that they would serve for six years before they could seek for transfer.
According to the statement, he said, “You have to be warned and desist from lobbying to be retained in urban areas because your appointment letters read that you will spend six years in a station where you will be posted before you can seek for transfer.”
He praised the governor for fulfilling his electioneering campaign promises of restoring the lost glory of education in the state, stressing that the education sector under the governor is witnessing ‘a new dawn’.
Speaking on behalf of the new teachers, Danjuma Nafisat Jibola, appreciated the Governor of Kwara State for creating level playing ground that ensures their engagement, saying that majority of them had been wandering at home for years doing nothing.
She prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom for the Governor in piloting the affairs of the state to the promised land.
