Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki, the Honorable State Minister of Mines and Steel Development, has been conferred with two traditional chieftaincy titles in two leading kingdoms in Ondo, and Kwara State.
The federal minister made this revelation via
a message of appreciation posted on her Facebook page on Monday.
The former federal lawmaker thanked the two (2) prominent traditional monarchs for considering her deserving of the titles.
Saraki said: “Alhamdulilah Robbil Al-Amin. I’m divinely humbled and deeply honoured to have been considered worthy of traditional chieftaincy titles in two of our foremost kingdoms by two of our foremost Kings.
“In Ondo, the Deji of Akure, HRH Oba Aladetoyinbo Oguntade Aladelusi found me humbly worthy of the traditional chieftaincy title of Yeye Midan of Akure Kingdom.
“And in my home state, Kwara, the Emir of Yashikira, HRH Alhaji Umani Seriki Usman honoured me with the title of Ga’atar Ma’atar of Yashikira Emirate.
“My immense gratitude goes to our Royal Highnesses, their subjects and people who in their wisdom considered my humble contributions worthy of these recognitions in their respective Kingdoms.
“Personally, while I am truly humbled by these honours, what continues to be of utmost importance is to do more towards entrenching gender advocacy, grassroots political engagements and of course, pushing the envelope of true leadership in our communities, our country.
“It remains indeed a privilege.”
The minister, however, glorified Almighty Allah for making her a vessel of His works.
“Above all, to Almighty Allah is due all praise for enabling in us a vessel of His works. Alhamdulilah,” she said.
