The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed his party’s determination to secure victory in the upcoming off-season gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo states.
He made this announcement during the inauguration of newly constructed road projects in Sokoto and the distribution of relief materials to 2022 flood victims.
Ganduje praised the developmental achievements of Governor Ahmad Aliyu, highlighting the significant progress made within his first 100 days in office.
He expressed confidence that the next four years would bring further prosperity.
The APC leader referenced the recent victory of President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, emphasizing that Nigerians should anticipate more development and assurance that their votes were genuinely counted.
Ganduje, the former Governor of Kano State, urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu and pray for him to overcome challenges in transforming the nation.
He called on opposition parties to accept the court’s verdict as a victory for democracy, acknowledging that the petitions had been thoroughly reviewed and decided by reputable judges.
Ganduje encouraged APC State Governors to emulate Aliyu’s commitment to executing beneficial projects for citizens.
Furthermore, he commended the Federal and Sokoto State Governments for distributing relief materials to 15,668 victims of the 2022 floods and vulnerable individuals, describing it as a source of relief.
Ganduje urged beneficiaries to use the items judiciously to alleviate their hardship.
Ganduje affirmed the APC’s full preparedness for victory in the upcoming off-season gubernatorial elections in Kogi, Bayelsa, Imo State, and future elections.
He called on party loyalists to remain committed and avoid activities that could cause disunity among members nationwide.
In a meeting with APC state executives in Sokoto, Ganduje stressed the importance of unity and support for Aliyu and others to achieve maximum success.
Governor Aliyu praised Ganduje’s leadership for uniting the APC and assured his support for Tinubu and the party’s leadership.
Aliyu reiterated the state government’s commitment to executing projects that enhance citizens’ lives, support the less-privileged, and vulnerable individuals in line with his 9-point agenda.
Mr. Sani Hamza, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Team Lead and Officer in charge of Special National Economic and Livelihood Emergency Intervention Programme, explained that the relief effort aimed to assist vulnerable persons affected by the flood disaster.
The intervention sought to restore normalcy to the 15 Local Government Areas impacted by the flood and promote the socio-economic resilience of the most vulnerable individuals.
Hamza mentioned that a joint committee comprising NEMA and State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) officials had conducted a survey and needs assessment of the affected areas and individuals.
