Fraud case: Court to decide Hushpuppi’s fate Monday

It has been speculated that popular Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abbas, popularly addressed as Hushpuppi, would know his fate over charges of fraud on Monday in the United States.

The Informant247 observes that earlier on Friday, specilations flooded the cyber space that court has sentenced Hushpuppi to 11 years imprisonment in the US.

Meanwhile the BBC News has debunked the  information as untrue and fake.

The Informant247 recalls that Hushpuppi is a suspected Nigerian suspect of internet frauds and cyber crimes apprehended in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in June 2020.

He got extradited to the US on July 3.

The Informant247 learnt that the suspect has defrauded over 1.9 million persons, and many whom were Americans.

when the matters were read to him, the 37-year-old Nigerian social media celebrity had pleaded guilty to the charges leveled against him.

In October 2022, Otis Wright, of the US Central District Court in California, who’s presiding over the case announced the postponement of the matter to Monday, November 7, 2022.

“Counsels are notified, the sentencing is continued to November 7, 2022, at 11.30 am as to Defendant Ramon Olorunwa Abbas,” the court announced.
