In what looks like a rush to leverage on the growing momentum around Saudi Pro League, FOX sports has successfully secured the US broadcasting rights for the league.

According to World Soccer Talk, FOX Sports will be the official broadcaster of the Saudi Pro League in the United States starting from the 2023/24 season, which kicks off on Friday, August 11.

The deal also covers both English and Spanish language broadcasts, delivering to a diverse audience base.

The Saudi Pro League recently began an expansion and a strategic move for international recognition by attracting top players from Europe.

The project is in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 as they eye in the hosting rights of the 2030 World Cup.

Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo who apparently broke the ground for the entry of other notable players, the roaster of big names in the league has since increased ahead of the new season.

Sadio Mane, Roberto Firminho, Riyad Mahrez, Ruben Nevez, Ngolo Kante, Karim Benzema are some of the players who have teamed up with clubs in the Kingdom.

The opening fixtures of the 2023/24 season are slated to have kick-offs predominantly at 11 AM ET or 2 PM ET, appealing nicely to the U.S. market.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi recently joined MLS side, Inter Miami in America. The seven time Ballon’ D’or winner had earlier rejected a huge deal from Saudi, a move many regarded as an effort to avoid another round of rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo.
