Former PDP chair Audu Ogbeh passes away

Former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former minister of agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has passed away at the age of 78. He died on Saturday, August 9, as confirmed by his family in a statement.

“He departed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, service and dedication to our nation and community,” the family stated. “We are comforted by the many lives he touched and the examples he set.”

The family also indicated that details of his funeral arrangements would be announced later and expressed their gratitude to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for their prayers and support during this difficult time. “We will appreciate some privacy at this time while we mourn the loss of our patriarch,” they added.

Chief Ogbeh was a seasoned politician, writer, and farmer who chaired the PDP from 2001 to 2005 before serving as minister under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. His contributions to the political landscape and his commitment to public service have left a lasting impact.
