Former Kwara Football Academy graduate Attah Simon has joined Finnish II division side Oulun Työväen Palloilijat, (OTP United) for the 2022 season.
The Club made the announcement of the capture of the 21-year-old former Captain of the Academy on its official website on Tuesday.
The statement reads;
“Left-footed Simon Attah joins the OTP group. Before coming to Finland, I played football in the Nigerian professional league, and most recently I was in a club in Ukraine. I feel very good in Finland, the coach, the players, and really everyone have received me excellently and I think the best way to pay back is to give my all on the field”.
“The reception was so genuinely caring that adjusting here was easy and I love it in Finland, Oulu, and OTP. My goal here is to leave everything about myself on the field and do all the work for me to make this season better than the previous one. I have full credit for achieving our goals, as our players, backgrounds, and everyone who is connected to OTP are first class”. Simon says.
Attah who joined Kwara Football Academy in 2013 as a school boy spent 8years in Ilorin and in 2019 had a loan spell with Wikki Tourist of Bauchi in the Nigerian Professional Football league.
OTP has played 16 seasons in the Finnish premier divisions Mestaruussarja and Veikkausliiga. After that, there was a short-lived merger with OLS called FC Oulu in the early 1990s. OTP was re-established in 1995 as FC Oulu defunct.
The club has also been playing bandy, winning the bandy championship of the Finnish Workers’ Sports Federation in 1953, 1954, and 1955. The Club will be campaigning in Group C of the Finish II division this year.
