The much-anticipated 2023 Emir of Ilorin Cup is set to kick off with a thrilling opening match between Unilorin Warriors FC and Kwara Poly FC on October 14th, 2023.
This prestigious football tournament is organized to celebrate the 28th anniversary of the reign of Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR as the 11th Emir of Ilorin.
The event, which promises to be a display of gilt and glamour, officially commenced with the trophy unveiling and draws ceremony held on October 7th at the conference room of the Kwara State Sports Commission, drawing the attention of esteemed personalities.
The Emir of Ilorin Cup will be hosted across eight venues in Ilorin and is scheduled to run from October 14th to November 11th, 2023.
During a recent pitch inspection at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Abdulhakeem Uthman Mustapha, a former President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Committee, expressed his unwavering support for the Emir of Ilorin Cup 2023.
Mustapha, who met with the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) of the tournament, generously funded the re-grassing of the main bow of the Kwara State Stadium Complex in Ilorin.
