The Federal Government is working towards establishing Rehabilitation Centres for Persons with Disabilities in the three Senatorial Districts of Kwara State.
Iliasu Abdulrauf, Chairman, Rehabilitation Committee for Persons with Disabilities office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President, made this disclosure while inspecting sites for the proposed facilities.
Abdulrauf said fifteen hectares of land has been allocated for the projects to be sited at Ogigi, in Kwara South, Budo Tuntun in Kwara Central and Bode Saadu in Kwara North.
He also said each facility will include skill acquisition and vocational training centres, a school, hospital, and a befitting para-soccer stadium.
For her part, the Permanent Secretary of the Kwara state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Afusat Ibrahim commended the federal government for the initiative and advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the facilities when ready for use.
