FG hails popular singer Tems for winning Grammy Award
The federal government has congratulated the popular Afrobeats singer, Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, for winning the 2023 Grammy Award.
The Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed on behalf of the federal government congratulated the female singer
“We hope this remarkable achievement by Tems will spur her to greater heights and serve as an inspiration to other artistes who are also eyeing the highly-coveted honour,” Mohammed said.
On Sunday night, the female singer won the ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ category.
Her victory came due to her role in ‘Wait for U’, the 2022 hit song by Future featuring Drake.
The Informant247 recalls that Tems and Burna Boy were the only Nigerian singers nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards.
Burna Boy, could not win the ‘Best Global Music Album’ and the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ categories of the international awards.
The 2023 edition of the Grammy Awards ceremony took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
