Naira Marley and Sam Larry, individuals connected to the tragic passing of rising star Mohbad, have been remanded in police custody for 21 days by a Yaba magistrate court in Lagos.
The court decision followed the Lagos police’s request to hold Naira Marley and Sam Larry for 30 days while they complete their investigation into the case.
However, Chief Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun ruled in favor of a 21-day remand.
Simultaneously, the police declared Primeboy, a friend of the late Mohbad, as a wanted individual.
According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, Primeboy failed to cooperate with the investigation into Mohbad’s untimely death.
In a bid to encourage cooperation from the public, the police have offered a reward of N1 million for any valuable information leading to Primeboy’s arrest.
Nationwide protests have erupted with thousands of Nigerians demanding justice for Mohbad.
Idowu Owohunwa, the state commissioner of police, has vowed that the command will use all available resources to identify and bring to justice everyone involved in the case.
On September 21, the police conducted an autopsy on Mohbad’s remains, awaiting the results as part of their ongoing investigation.
