The Federal Capital Territory Administration has revealed its intent to approve the construction of a new permanent orientation camp for the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, in Kwali, Abuja, the country capital.

The Minister of the FCT, Musa Bello, who’s represented by the Secretary of FCT NYSC Governing Board, Hadiza Kabir, made this revelation on Tuesday in Abuja at the NYSC National Governing Board meeting with chairpersons of the State Governing Boards.

The minister has said that a new secretariat complex was under preparation as part of the administration of FCT to ease the operations of the youth service scheme in Abuja.

He has implored all stakeholders not to leave their responsibilities to the Federal Government alone.

“The NYSC scheme is the responsibility of governments at all levels and must not be left in the care of only one”, he said.

The Chairman of the NYSC National Governing Board, Ambassador Fatima Abubakar, has expressed concern over the challenges of the organization despite its achievements in fostering national unity.
