Farmer remanded over alleged defilement of minor in Kaduna

A Kaduna Court has directed that a 36-year-old farmer, Ezekiel Bishen, be remanded in a correctional facility over alleged defilement of a nine year old girl.

 The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has charged the defendant with defilement.

The Informant247 observes that the offence contradicts the Section 259 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law.

The prosecutor of the NSCDC, Marcus Audu, informed the court that the matter was brought the awareness of the Corps’ by the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Kafanchan on October 17.

Audu added that the defendant deceived the girl into his house at Zonkwa and compelled her to suck his manhood after which he had carnal knowledge of her.

He further said that the accused issued threat to eliminate the girl if she informs anyone what has happened between them.

Michael Bawa, who’s the presiding judge,  however, rejected the plea of the defendant for lack of jurisdiction on the case.

Bawa ordered the prosecutor to transfer the case file to the State Director of Public Prosecution for necessary legal advice.

He has adjourned the case until November 22 for further mention.
