Kashim Shettima, the Nigerian Vice President, on Thursday, visited Kaduna State to commiserate with the victims and families of last Sunday’s military airstrikes at Tudun Biri village in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.
The Informant247 gathered that the Vice-President was welcomed on arrival at the Nigerian Air Force base, Mando, by Governor Uba Sani and top officials of the Kaduna State Government.
The Vice President was accompanied by the Speaker, Abbas Tajuddeen, Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and the APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and were on a condolence visit over the tragic incident where Muslim faithful observing Maulud celebration were “mistakenly” killed and many others injured by a military drone attack targeted at terrorists and bandits.
The Informant247 had earlier reported that an air strike intended to flush out terrorists accidentally hit civilians during a religious celebration at Tudun Biri on Sunday night.
It was also gathered that the death toll from the incident had risen to 120, as Amnesty International officials who visited the impacted villages confirmed the rise in the death toll.
