Explosion kills 6, injures scores in Turkey’s Istanbul

An explosion has killed at least six persons and injured 53 others in central Istanbul.

It was gathered that the incident rocked a busy pedestrian street in Istanbul.

Report has it that ambulances were quickly moved to the affected scene to rescue the situation.

It was gathered that area in the city’s Beyoglu district was full of tourists, shoppers and families.

The president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a conference on the television, said that initial indications revealed to be a “terror” attack.

Erdogan said: “It might be wrong if we say for sure that this is terror, but according to first signs, there is a smell of terror there.

International community has spoken against the explosion on Istanbul’s Istiklal which took the lives of at least six people while scores sustained various degrees of injuries.
