In a bid to enlighten the public about the duty of the legislative arm of government, a public affairs analyst, Comrade Mashood Lanre Osho, will on Saturday 30th of December, 2023, launch a book titled “MY RANDOM THOUGHTS: A WAKE-UP CALL TO THE 10TH KWARA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY.”
The book, which contains letters written to the 10th Kwara State House of Assembly and set as a reminder to the 24 Honourable members, will have its launching hold at NBA Hall Kwara State High Court, Ilorin, Kwara State, by 10 am prompt.
According to Lanre Osho, the deputy director of the Elite Network Sustainable Development (ENetSuD), in a statement released, the book, which is a constructive assessment of the Kwara State House of Assembly, especially the 9th Assembly with advice for the 10th Assembly, put the 10th Assembly on its toes to perform its duties as true representatives of their constituencies in the State.
The book also stresses the significance of the Legislature in a ”Constitutional Democracy” or ”Representative Democracy” and how close it is to the grassroots while touching on many issues ranging from politics, democracy, health, education,
unemployment, agriculture and food security, human rights, freedom of information bills, economy, sustainable development, environment and climate change, fuel subsidy, pension, drug abuse, and roles of taxpayers in a democracy, among others.
The statement furthered that the book will guide the 10th Assembly in its Legislative duties, especially the ENetSuD’s reports on the assessment needs of the communities in the 193 Wards of the State.
