Election: Akeredolu declares break for Ondo workers

The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has declared Friday as a half-day for civil servants in the state, in order to allow the government workers to prepare for Saturday’s presidential election.

This was contained in a circular issued by the State Head of Service, Olaniyi Ogundele, on Wednesday in Akure, saying the government offices shall close work by noon on Friday, February 24, and Friday, March 10, 2023.

It, however, added that the holidays are to enable public servants to travel to their various communities to perform their civic duty of voting during the general elections.

Meanwhile, Mr Akeredolu would on Thursday address the people of Ondo in a statewide broadcast.

The governor, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Richard Olatunde, said the state broadcast, which would be aired by the state-owned television and radio stations, is slated for 7 am.
