The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Command, said it has apprehended two owners of yahoo schools and seven other suspected internet fraudsters in Benin, the capital of Edo State.
The spokesperson of the anti financial crime agency, Wilson Uwujaren, made this revelation via a statement on Thursday.
Uwujaren revealed that a Mercedes Benz GLK, Lexus 350, phones and laptops were gotten from the suspects.
He added that the two suspects run a Coaching Centre for Internet Fraud (a.k.a HK) in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
“The yahoo school owners, Osagie Ogiemwonyi and Onukwugho Favour and seven of their “students” were arrested at their centres following actionable intelligence worked upon by the Commission.
“The seven others are Destiny Ohikwugbe, Chata Okoro, Ighodaro Omede, Ehigie Idemudia, Lawrence Daniel, Raymond Ogiemwonyi Oghosa and Henry Philip.
The financial crime commission revealed that the suspects would be dragged to court as soon as investigations are done.
