Don’t use substandard materials, Kwara SUBEB warns contractors handling school projects

The Universal Basic Education Board has advised contractors handling the construction and renovation of schools projects across the State against the use of substandard materials.

The Executive Chairman of Kwara the Board, Professor Shehu Raheem Adaramaja gave the advice during a meeting with the project department and the contractors at the board’s conference room.

Adaramaja stated that “the purpose of the project is to provide conducive environment for students and teachers as well as improve the quality of education in the state”.

The KWASUBEB boss noted that stakeholders like Universal Basic Education commission and National Space Research and Development Agency will be going out on routine supervision and inspection of school projects to ensure that contractors carry out the work according to the specification.

Adaramaja stressed that he will not allow any contractors to jeopardise the efforts of government in providing quality education in the state.

He commended the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his efforts in improving quality of education by approving vehicles for the purpose of project supervision in the state.
