Hours after his suspension from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, the campaign posters of the former Governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani and the presidential flagbearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu have surfaced online.
The candidate for the Enugu East Senatorial District on the platform of the PDP has been suspected to be supporting Tinubu against the presidential candidate of his own party, Atiku Abubakar.
The Informant247 earlier reported that the Senator representing Enugu west senatorial district was suspended by his party, PDP.
This was confirmed in a statement released by the spokesperson of the party, Debo Ologunagba, on Friday, January 20, 2023.
The spokesman said Nnamani and 7 other persons were suspended by the party over “anti-party activities”.
While reacting to his suspension from the party, the senator described the decision of the party as a “rude shock and huge surprise”.
He said he’s not aware of any petition produced against him.
He said he was not given fair hearing, as the party did not hear his own side of the story.
He also described the decision of the party as a violation of the regulations of the party and a contravention of the the provisions of the 1999 constitution.
In the campaign poster which has gone viral on social media, the senator campaigned for his senatorial ambition, while the image of Tinubu was displayed in the same poster as the supported presidential candidate.
