Senator Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin and the distinguished representative of Kwara Central Senatorial District, has reaffirmed his dedication to investing in the education sector, with a particular emphasis on supporting Islamic education.
Senator Mustapha made this promise on a significant occasion, during the Book Launch and Award Presentation hosted by the Darul Ulum Alumni Association Isale Koto.
The event, held at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin, celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the Darul Ulum Arabic Institute and brought together notable individuals, including the Registrar of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof Issaq Oloyede, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof Egbewole, esteemed Baloguns, and Islamic scholars.
While acknowledging the importance of Western education, Senator Mustapha urged parents to also prioritize providing their children with high-quality religious education, especially in the realm of Islamic studies.
He emphasized the significance of instilling good teaching of Islam in the daily lives of students in Islamic schools.
Expressing his concern about the rising issue of street thuggery in Ilorin, a city that takes pride in its Islamic identity, Senator Mustapha called for a reorientation among the youth.
