Court remands man for raping 13-yr-old girl in Kwara

The Kwara State family court sitting in Ilorin, on Thursday, remanded one Kingsley Wze, in the Mandala Correctional Service Centre for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.

Police First Information Report revealed that the defendant, Eze, committed the crime when she visited the victim’s house in order to repair her father’s generator.

He reportedly lured the girl into his rented apartment where she forcefully had canal knowledge of her.

Police report further noted that Eze confessed to have committed the crime at the police station.

THE INFORMANT247 correspondent reports that the prosecutor, Adigun Adisa, prayed the court to remand Eze on the basis that the alleged offences against him are capital in nature and are not ordinarily bailable.

Eze’s counsel, Barrister Lawrence Opoola, in his submission, urged the court to discountenance the submission of the prosecutor saying his client is not quilty of the offences until contrarily proven by the court.

Magistrate Shade Lawal, who presided over the matter, however ceded to the prayer of the prosecutor by reminding the defendant while the matter was adjourned to 16th of next month.
