Court remands ‘fake Sobi FM staff’ in Kwara

An Upper Area Court, sitting in Ganmo, Kwara State, on Monday, ordered the remand of one AbdulRazaq Ibrahim in Oke-kura Correctional Service for alleged impersonation as a Sobi FM staff.

The suspect, who was dragged before Justice Ajibade for criminal breach of trust, impersonation and cheating, was also accused of collecting money and sleeping with women, under the guise of helping them to secure job placement at the Radio Station.

The defendant, in the police report, claimed to be working with a staff of the station, saying he is the one who on many occasions, helped him to perfect employment for people, which was later found to be untrue.

One of his victims, Sulyman Fausat of Akerebiata, Ilorin, who testified before the court, said the defendant lured her into having sexual intercourse in order to get her job.

She also alleged Ibrahim of collecting twenty five thousand naira from her with no job forthcoming.

THE INFORMANT247 correspondent gathered that the prosecutor, Mukadam Folorunsho, in his submission, urged the court to remand Ibrahim in the correctional centre on the basis that police investigation is still ongoing on the matter.

The judge, however, granted him bail in the sum of fifty thousand naira and two sureties but his failure to meet the bail condition landed him in correctional centre while the matter was adjourned to the 9th of next month.
