A 25 year-old-man, Usman Musibau, has been remanded in a Correctional Centre over alleged possession of locally-made pistol.
The man was on Thursday ordered to be remanded by an Ibadan Magistrates’ Court.
Musibau, whose address of residence was not revealed, has been charged with possession of locally-made pistol.
Mrs O. A Akande who’s the Magistrate, rejected the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction.
She ordered the police to move the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
She has also adjourned the matter until Dec. 15, for mention.
Mr Philip Amusan, who’s the Prosecutor earlier informed the court that the defendant allegedly carried out the offence on September. 30, at about 10:00 a.m, at Ojoo area, Ibadan.
Amusan also levelled an allegation that Musibau illegally possesed the pistol which he has not been able to give account of.
He further said that the offence was in contravention of Section 3 of the Robbery and Firearms Act of Nigeria, 2004.
