Corruption: Kaduna Assembly recommends prosecution of El-Rufai’s administration
A recommendation that Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, the immediate-past governor of the state, be prosecuted for alleged abuse of office and money laundering in his administration has been made by the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The Informant247 gathered that the recommendation was made following the investigation of the ad-hoc committee set up by the House, led by Henry Zacharia, where the report submitted stated that loans obtained under el-Rufai’s administration were not used for their intended purpose, and in some cases, due process was not followed in securing the loans.
The committee, however, recommended that the El-Rufai administration be investigated and prosecuted for abuse of office through the award of contracts without due process, diversion of public funds, and money laundering.
