Today is a new day, for many States, it’s a day for the inauguration of a new government or the continuum of an existing one, but for Kwarans, it’s a day for change of order and establishment, a struggle led by the people themselves, a people that henceforth have declined to be used as a political instrument whilst remaining impoverished.
I sincerely congratulate my brother, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara state, the man saddled with the task to lead the emancipation of the masses, and reclaiming our glory, long lost to the constant degradation of our fabric as a people.
I want him to always remember the saying, _”uneasy lies the head that wears the crown”_ in all he does, whether in times of the unavoidable pressure of governance, or undue provocation from the political class, he should keep a calm head, never be distracted, and should always be focused on governance.
In the same vein, I congratulate all other elected officials, both at the National level and the State level. I enjoin them to perform their duties diligently, as their emergence in the last polls is a call for reflection, sacrifice, and selfless service to the people, and they must continually advance the cause of the people they represent.
I sincerely wish the _”people’s government”_ the very best, and I urge fellow statesmen to fully support the government, as their success or failure, is a shared glory or disgrace to us as a people. The maxim that should be on our tongues henceforth is, _”may Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq succeed”._
