Community Policing is not a paid Job —IGP

The Inspector-General of Police of the Nigerian Police Force, Usmanu Alkali Baba has clarified that community policing is not a job that qualified someone for remuneration.

The IGP stated this during his One Day working visit to Kwara State Police Command on Wednesday.

It could be recalled how those engaged in Kwara for community policing were lamenting over the unpaid six months remuneration which they claimed to be their entitlements (as monthly salaries).

In his words, the IGP regarded community policing as a voluntary work that is open to anyone ready to sacrifice and give his commitment to serve his community upon proper training from the relevant authorities.

Equally, he said, “the only thing that will keep Nigerian Police Force efficient is training”.
