CJN to inaugurate 400 judges as members of 2023 Election Petition Tribunals Nov 7

Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), will on Monday, November 7, install Election Petition Tribunals that would look into and assess petitions that may originate from the conduct of the 2023 general elections.

More than 400 Judges who are products of States and Federal High Courts have been carefully chosen by Justice Monica Dongbam, the Court of Appeal President, to be on the panel.

Festus Akande, who’s the Director of Information and Press of the Supreme Court, made this confirmation to newsmen that the installation of the Election Petition Tribunals would take place at the National Judicial Institute (NJI) which is contrary to the usual premises Apex Court.

He further explained that Andrews Otutu Obaseki Auditorium of NJI was put into consideration in line with the large number of the members of the tribunal in expectation for the inauguration ceremony scheduled for 9 am.
