Chief Osita Chidoka, a former Aviation Minister, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to upgrade its Biometrics Voters Accredition System (BVAS) technology in order to hold better elections in the future.

Chidoka made the appeal in a statement issued on Tuesday in Awka in response to council elections held on February 12 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He said there were “disturbing” observations made during the polling process that needed to be addressed before the elections in Ekiti, Osun, and the general elections in 2023.

“After the Anambra elections and the BVAS concerns, I had expected INEC to have an easy time with the FCT polls.
