Chelsea crisis deepens as Brentford hit the bridge with 2-0

Chelsea recorded yet another dispiriting home defeat as Brentford inflicted a fifth consecutive loss on the blues with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

The visitors got the lead through Cesar Azpilicueta’s first-half own goal and would later have substitute Bryan Mbeumo slammed home the second goal for them.

Chelsea have now scored one goal in their last seven games, and are winless in eight.

It’s another dark night at the Stamford Bridge  for fans who were left dispirited in the face of a dwindling fortune.

Brentford needed no extra effort but only took two of their chances and make it count against a lacklustre blues.

The result means the Chelsea remains unmoved at 11th on the log with 39 points with Brentford now sitting Ninth on the table.
