The former heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua will be facing American Jermaine Franklin in April 1st.
Sportsmail exclusively reports that the bout is coming on the heels of the agreement between Joshua and Jermaine.
The fight will hold at the famous O2 Arena in London.
Joshua,33 has not appeared in the ring since August 2022, where he lost his second consecutive fight against Oleksander Usyk.
His first fight against the Ukrainian in September 2021 resulted in him being stripped of his WBA, WBO and IBF belts and was unable to win them back the following year.
He had lost both fights on the judges’ scorecards.
The fight against the American is the first for Joshua in the 2023 with its result as he looks to reassert his dominance as one of the best boxers in the world.
His new opponent Franklin who is 6ft 2, with a record of 21-1, trained with Tyson Fury during the build up to his fight with Dillian Whyte, but unfortunately for the American, he was defeated by Whyte after 12 rounds.
It was also reported that Joshua and Franklin have agreed on the financials for the fight and will sign the final paperwork later on Monday afternoon.
While the Britons will be looking to rebuild his reputation in the heavyweight division, the American will be looking to bounce back from his defeat by Whyte in November 2022
