A new legal charge has been initiated against Adegbola Abdulazeez, popularly known as Tani Olohun, an indigenous religion practitioner and activist, who was recently granted bail by a Magistrate Court in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The fresh charge alleges that he burnt the Quran, the holy book of Muslims.

This latest charge was brought before a Magistrate Court in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, by a lecturer at the University of Ilorin and a well-known Islamic cleric, Professor Ali Agan, according to BBC Yoruba.

Tani Olohun now faces a total of four separate charges filed by different complainants in various courts within the state.

The Informant247 had previously reported on Tani Olohun’s bail granted by a Magistrate Court in Ilorin on October 30, 2023.

Muftau Olufola Olobi, one of Tani Olohun’s lawyers, confirmed the development after the court proceedings in Ilorin.

This bail came 35 days after an Upper Area Court in Kwara State had also granted him bail.

However, he couldn’t be released at that time due to a separate case in a Magistrate Court where bail was denied.
