President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Major General Barry Ndiomu (rtd) as the interim administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), to replace rtd colonel, Milland Dikio.
President Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, announced Ndiomu’s appointment in a press statement issued on Thursday evening.
He said: “President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Major General Barry Tariye Ndiomu (retd) as Interim Administrator of the Amnesty Programme.”
Mr. Ndiomu hails from Odoni in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in 1983 after his graduation from the Nigerian Defence Academy as 29th Regular Combatant.
He held several command and staff appointments in the course of his military career before he retired in December 2017.
He added: “Gen Ndiomu also trained as a lawyer, and is an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, Badagry, Harvard Kennedy School, and George C Marshall Centre for European Security Studies, among others,”
However, Adesina did not disclose the reasons for Dikio’s replacement and stated that, the appointment is with immediate effect.
