The Ilorin International Airport was on Saturday filled with jubilant crowd, who thronged the airport to welcome a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.
He was received at Airport by some prominent party members, and politicians, among others.
The Informant247 earlier reported that Abdullahi, a former minister of sports and youth development, emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) consensus candidate for Kwara central senatorial district.
He was said to have emerged the PDP consensus candidate after other aspirants in the district voluntarily withdrew from the race.
Addressing journalists at the Airport, he pledged to provide better representation for the people of his senatorial district, while also contributing to development of the country.
“I have always been a part of the community and I am fully aware of the challenges faced by the people of Kwara central. For us, the challenges are very clear, we know the challenges of poor education, poverty, and poor health care among others, which we believe the national assembly can make the right legislation to improve it.”
He appreciated Dr. Bukola Saraki for giving a nod to the consensus arrangements that produce him as the party’s flagbearer.
He further urged his supporters to obtain their permanent voter’s cards.
